Over the last 16 months, I have noticed that I am consistently seeing dragonflies.  Never before in my life do I remember seeing so many, if any, dragonflies around me.  About a year ago, after noticing them so much, I decided that do a little research and see what dragonflies symbolize.  The general consensus is that they represent change

CHANGE…. what a great way to describe the last 16 months of my life….CHANGE.  Constant change…. beginning to exercise every day, slowly altering what and how much I am eating, dropping clothes sizes, losing pounds on the scale, being laid-off from my job of 10 years, leaving all of my friends from my old job, having to replace my husband’s car right after I got laid-off, being on unemployment for 6 months, getting a new job with all new people, going from being a working mom to a stay-at-home mom and back to a working mom, realizing and acknowledging that I am not in control…of anything but ME, watching my son grow from a toddler to a little boy in what seems like “overnight,” altering my definition of “fast food” and “eating out,” radically changing my reaction to stress and difficulties, beginning to set goals and ACHIEVE those goals, no matter what tries to block my way, …. the list goes on and on. 

Any change, even a change for the better, is always accompanied by drawbacks and discomforts.

I have learned A LOT and I have changed A LOT!  I have been through a lot and I continue to deal with the setbacks of being laid-off for 6 months, but I like to look at what I have been through as a transformation into a NEW and IMPROVED version of myself. 

So, I have a new mascot, the dragonfly.


While change is sometimes painful, I have found out that I always come through stronger and more determined than ever.

What would you do??  Could you pick yourself up and carry on?  Could you devise a plan through the tears and put that plan into action?  Would you ask for help from friends, family, and organizations?  What would you do? 

I have a plan already and I will be prepared, in case the worst should ever occur.  Do you have a plan?  I know that I would survive.  Would you? 

Take some time this week to think about change, both the changes that you know are coming and those that could never be seen coming.  What changes can you make now that will help you be prepared for any unexpected things in the future?  What can you do to ensure that you can stand on your own two feet, should anything happen to your family or friends? 

My passion and purpose is to help everyone be the happiest and healthiest that they can be.  For 98% of the population, that will involve CHANGE.  Don’t be afraid to made the changes that you need to make to be the happiest that you can be.  Devise a plan and live that plan.  Set goals and work to achieve them. 

DO IT!  MOVE YOUR BODY while you do it! 

Like a dragonfly, your energy and your spirit will soar!
